Burmese Refugee Resettlement

On Wednesday, December 15th, Kyar Maung, Hei Htoo, Shee Eh Tha, K Eh Tha and Lee Paw Eg arrived in Omaha after nearly two days of travel. They were forced from Burma in 1997 as part of the purging of the Karen population there, and have lived in a refugee camp in Thailand ever since. The Karen ethnic group has been identified by the U. S. State Department for resettlement. A large number of refugees have already been settled in Omaha.

We are blessed to be helping this family. There are three children, boys 8 and 10, and a 4 year old girl. So far we have had a great response of furniture and household items for the family.
